Step 5: Contact Sweet Spot

We're going to watch the ball, and make contact with the sweet spot at the bottom of the ball so it spins violently. Now put this all into motion and speed it up, so we run in, watch the point of the ball and then follow through with the kick towards goal.

FOCUS POINTS:

  • Try and hit the middle of your foot and get the ball to go straight
  • Point the toe and concentrate on hitting the middle of your foot each time.
  • A variation of this technique is to use a normal tennis ball and practice kicking it against a wall and catching it. Work on kicking it in the middle of your foot and the ball will come back to you straight.

Step 1:
Hand on the Ball

Spread your fingers out to give yourself great coverage on the ball and try to control the ball further down to your foot...

Once you have got the handling right, the next stage is to get the ball carry right. Stand with the line of the Precision ball directly in the middle of your leg and use the line on the ground as a reference to keep the ball straight...

Watch the Goal and Build Momentum

Now we need to walk in and build momentum straight through to the goal line. We're going to do this quicker and quicker making sure the ball is not moving...

Guide Ball Down Onto Point

At the point we're about to kick the ball we need to look down and watch the ball. You have to watch the point of the ball when going to kick and make a connection with the bottom point of the ball so that it spins in a straight line...
